Casting Call for Sesaon 2 of Buffy Audio Drama [17 Mar 2008|03:19pm]

Are you an insane Buffy fan? Then we need YOU!

We are currently having a OPEN casting call for roles in Season 2 of Buffy Between the Lines. What IS Buffy Between the Lines? It's an audio drama set between the seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Season 1 is in full swing currently and is set between Seasons 5 and 6 of the tv show.

Season 2 is in the auditioning process and will be set between Seasons 2 and 3 of the TV show.

Our needed cast list is long, so we're only auditioning some of the available roles. There's a LOT more than are on the list. So if you feel like you would like to become part of the Buffyverse audition! Even if you don't "sound" like a Californian this season has a LOT of different characters that we need voices for.

We especially need auditions for people with Mexican/South American/British accents.

If you want to learn more about the auditions click here.

If you'd like to listen to Season 1 visit our website and click on the pictures in the right hand corner. Those are the episode banners for each of our current shows. Once you've clicked you can listen via our website. Or you can subscribe to our podcast for FREE on iTunes.

If you have any questions let me know.

Hi, Tabitha here from the new podcast "Strangely Literal". Each episode features fanfic from all the areas of the Joss Whedon verse.

I'm a current resident of Chicago and a total nerd when it comes to Joss, sci-fi, fantasy and etc.

You can find our episodes here for direct download:

OR subscribe via your favorite podcatcher using our RSS feed -

OR add us to your iTunes -

Friend us on LJ for updates and some extra goodies not found on the site.

Send your own fanfic in to tabz@strangelyliteral[dot]com - all forms of stories accepted (G-PG-13 rated, 100-1000 words in length)... it can even be a "scene" not really a full story.

Comments always appreciated!

Mods if this is out of line let me know!

Serenity Previews, Take II [09 May 2005|05:40am]

More screenings on May 26th. Likely -- but not guaranteed -- to include Boston again.Collapse )
Can't Stop the Signal should eventually be updated with the new information. For anyone trying to get ahead of the pack, my best guess -- and this is admittedly speculation, based on what's been found for Seattle -- is that Fandango will eventually have tickets here.

(Note, incidentally, that this is the night before the next "Once More With Feeling" singalong at the Coolidge.)

[ mood | ecstatic ]

I got my acceptance letter to Emerson today.

Is it sad that I'm already looking through all of the clubs I can join?

When I visited the campus for the open house, I was in the Little Building and when I walked past one of the posting boards and saw this poster, for people to join the Buffy club - I freaked out, so I've actually been stalking this lj comm for a few months, afraid to post or join.

Just looking through all of these posts, and everything in general. You all rock my socks!

Seminar: Deconstructing TV's Buffy [08 Dec 2004|02:12am]

Well now, I already posted a comment about the class on the main Emerson LJ community, but I'm hoping to get a little more info now, and figured posting here might help.

I am a MassArt student looking extremely forward to taking "Seminar: Deconstructing TV's Buffy" at Emerson, although I only found out about the class about 2 weeks ago. I don't understand cross-registration, when I'm supposed to do it, etc. If you guys have any info on that it'd be great, but I guess I am wondering more about people who have taken the class.

Is it popular? Is it interesting? What kind of assignments are there? Is it offered every semester? - because I may have to try for next fall. Any info would be great and I really do need responses so please tell me if you have info! And what's with this Buffy club at Emerson? LET ME COME maybe???

Serenity release postponed five months [23 Nov 2004|12:46pm]

Joss Whedon, writer and director of the upcoming SF movie Serenity, told the Whedonesque Web site that the film version of his canceled Fox TV show Firefly has been pushed back to Sept. 30, 2005, from its original April 22 opening date.
Quoth Joss, in part:
April got crowded with a lot of titles aimed at a similar demographic, and the studio decided September was a clearer corridor for the film to make the kind of impact it should. This isn't about a lack of confidence in the film -- in fact, they told me this before they even saw it. And now they have seen it, and unless they're way better liars than I'm used to, they dug it. Actually, they dug it pretty large, which is a good sign since there's not a single finished effect in the film. There's no reworking the end, no reshoots, no "does it have to be in space?". It's just a marketing issue.
Article here, post by Joss here.

SHUT UP, DAWN! [23 Oct 2004|03:26am]

That rocked. There was singing, and dancing, and a giant bunny, and dry cleaning... and we got seats in the front row. My neck is going to be sore tomorrow, and "Hush" may turn out to have foreshadowed the state of my voice (especially after the scream ending "Dawn's Lament"), and it was cold outside, and I don't care. That was totally worth it.

Thanks to those of you I met at the LB at the start of the night... you made this a lot of fun! For everybody who couldn't make it this time (you were missed, Gillian!), they'll be doing it again in a few months. You'll wanna be there.
